1) Hillcrest Berry Orchards

2) The Giraffe House
Enjoy the outdoors and learn about wildlife at the same time, with the Giraffe Houses’ education program. Some of the animals you can see and interact with include South African tortoises, vervet monkeys and African parrots.

3) Village Museum
One of the most striking things about Stellenbosch is its traditional Cape Dutch architecture. The Village Museum is made up from four replica houses from different eras, starting in 1709, which allow you to step back into time and experience what life was like back then.

4) Jonkershoek Nature Reserve
The ideal playground for hikers, Jonkershoek offers everything from short walks to more challenging hikes, up to 18km long. Take in the spectacular views of the majestic Jonkershoek Mountains while mountain biking or cycling, or take a dip in one of the waterfalls or rock pools formed by the 4 rivers, which find their source in the mountains.

5) Stellenbosch Slowmarket
Every Saturday, you can feast on locally produced fruit and vegetables, street style curry and mouthwatering cake. Expect artisan products from dozens of specialty suppliers, as well as locally designed arts and crafts. The market functions much like a community- you’ll be able to taste most of the produce before you make a purchase, and chat to fellow market-goers about recipes, food ideas and stories.
