ART GALLERIES TO VISIT IN STELLENBOSCH

Stellenbosch is not only a wine and food destination, but also a place for all art people.  

The town draws artists and art lovers from around the world. Their work is on display in the many art galleries in town and on wine estates. 

One of the flagship artworks on display in front of the Stellenbosch Town Hall is the Nelson Mandela memorial piece by South African land artist Strijdom van der Merwe.

Fine Art @ Neethlingshof

Neethlingshof is home to a Fine Art Gallery with a selection of excellent artworks in a variety of media. The collection is carefully selected and curated by Corlie de Kock from Knysna Fine Art and gets updated frequently. Currently the gallery is showing works by artists like Jaco Roux, Gary Stephens, Krisjan Rossouw, James Stead, Toby Megaw and Aidon Westcott, to name but a few.

The Gallery of the University of Stellenbosch (GUS)  is an off-campus extension of the Visual Arts Department.

Their vision is to serve as a public multi-disciplinary community centre, creating a space for sharing of knowledge, ideas and inspiration. In addition to exhibitions, GUS hosts live music events, poetry sessions, open workshops, lectures and discussions.

SMAC gallery was established in 2007 in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
