The Devon Valley Hotel’s 50 stylishly furnished guest rooms reflect the contemporary colonial feel of the hotel while enjoying unobstructed views of the mountains, vineyards and olive groves. The spacious Luxury rooms and Executive suites in the Manor House are the hotel’s premier offering, ideal for a romantic escape or a rejuvenating retreat.

The Hotel’s Classic Rooms are situated in the historic Cedarwood building, the Vineyard Rooms houses eight luxury rooms with their own fire places and 12 Classic rooms with beautiful views of the valley from their private patios and balconies.

SylvanVale Vineyards

SylvanVale is the estate comprising the vineyards surrounding the historic Devon Valley Hotel. Grapes have been grown on the property since the 1960s. Today these are some of the flagship vineyards in the Devon Valley, and the south-east facing slopes with their rich red soils now produce superb Pinotage, Cabernet and Chenin Blanc cultivars. Viticulturist Lorna Hughes, who has been instrumental in the renaissance of the property, implements a programme of total quality management, resulting in intensely flavoured and ultra ripe fruit - the basis of SylvanVale’s big, bold wines.


The Devon Valley Hotel’s signature restaurant, ‘Flavours’, has an elegant and welcoming ambience and promises to offer guests and visitors authentic, contemporary Cape cuisine in a picturesque setting. ‘Flavours’ is about bringing people together and celebrating the good things in life. The stylishly decorated Cedarwood Lounge & Bar with comfortable leather couches has become a much coveted and ever popular meeting place, highly conducive to long evenings alongside the cosy fireplace. The hotel’s bar and lounge area lead onto the Vineyard Terrace, which is the ideal spot for light and lazy lunches with breathtaking views of the hotel’s very own SylvanVale Vineyards and the Helderberg in the distance.

Vineyard Hiking & Biking Trails

Vineyard hiking trails around The Devon Valley Hotel is your opportunity to relax and unwind as the tranquillity of the rolling hills unfold. Enjoy the hospitality of the wine farmers along the route who share many generations’ toil to cultivate wines of origin and style. One can also sample the superlative wines of the region and experience the wine-making process first hand.

There are three spectacular routes on offer: The Mountain Route for the bird and nature lover; The Vintners Route for the wine lover and the Devon Valley Route for the health and fitness lover – this trail affords the hiker with a good work-out, all along the slopes of the vine-clad hills, with commanding views of both sides of the Devon Valley. Whisky, Wine & Food Pairings

The Devon Valley Hotel is surrounded by its own working SylvanVale Vineyards that produce handmade boutique style wines that are only available for sale to guests to the property. Gourmet Food and SylvanVale wine pairing are available all year round either in Flavours Restaurant or on a smaller sample tasting scale of Flavours food canapés and a flight of three SylvanVale wines.

The Cedarwood Lounge & Bar is home to one of the most definitive collections of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies in South Africa and is frequented by self-confessed Whisky lovers from all over the globe. Whisky tastings and pairing menus are also available and presents the perfect opportunity for Whisky and food lovers to indulge in these simple pleasures while visiting the Stellenbosch Winelands.

Conferencing & Events

Devon Valley Hotel is a tranquil country setting with gorgeous views over its own vineyards. There are six conference venues which are flooded with natural light, are air-conditioned and are configurable to almost any seating requirement, comfortably catering for up to 96 guests inside and 120 outside.

The banqueting team supported by the hotel’s food and beverage team, is experienced in handling weddings and functions efficiently and creatively. Standard conference equipment includes, data projector, screen, white board, flip chart and lectern. Internet connectivity in conference venues and wireless internet is available.
