Van Ryn’s Distillery Tour

Officially the best distillery tour in the world, according to the 2015 Distillery Experience Awards. Other awards received recently include Best Worldwide Brandy and International Brandy Producer of the Year.

Tourists worldwide visit distilleries while on holiday in search of cultural experiences. With brandy’s long history in South Africa – it was brought here in the 1800s by Dutch sailors – there is much to tell, especially at Van Ryn’s. The Best Distillery Tour award celebrates the effectiveness of thoughtful distillery tours.

Peter Falke Wines

Renowned for producing handcrafted, elegant wines that reflect the true characteristics of their terroir, the winemaking team was recently honoured at the 2014 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards with a trio of medals: The Peter Falke Signature Syrah 2012 received a prestigious Gold Medal, the soon-to-be-released PF Ruby Blend 2012 was also awarded a Gold Medal at the Michelangelo Awards and the newly-released PF Sauvignon Blanc 2014, a much-loved springtime favourite, received a shining Silver Medal.

The winery’s stylish Outdoor Tasting Lounge and beautiful gardens provide the perfect setting in which to savour these award winners, whilst breathing in the heady floral aromas wafting on the spring breeze. Linger longer and pair your wine with a selection of mouthwatering cheeses or a delicious light meal from the farm’s brand new menu:

Create your own cheese platter with a choice of 1, 3, 5 or 7 scrumptious cheeses, including the likes of Gorgonzola, fresh Asiago, Swiss Chevre, White Rock with Cranberries, Gruyere, Huguenot and Sheep Pecorino. Platters with 3 or more cheeses are served with preserves, assorted charcuterie, fresh bread and seasonal fruits.

For a lighter option, opt for a refreshing Parma Ham & Melon Platter, or choose the traditional Caprese Salad accompanied by freshly-baked bread.

All wines are available for enjoyment by the glass, carafe and bottle. A selection of teas, coffees, sodas, ‘tisers and other non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
