STELLENBOSCH INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL is set to go ahead with its 16th annual festival. The programme will be bold with one of South Africa’s most lauded concert pianists, Nina Schumann, at the helm. The SICMF is a unique and vibrant festival, where inspiration, education and world-class performance combine presenting a series of varied chamber music combining some of the most sublime and well-loved pieces from the standard repertoire with a number of South African premieres and new music. The all-star artist line-up includes Madeline Adkins, Alissa Margulis, Marc Bouchkov and Suzanne Martens (violin), Gareth Lubbe and Juan Miguel Hernandez (viola), David Cohen, Alexander Buzlov and Peter Martens (cello), Pieter Grobler, Nina Schumann and Luis Magalhães (piano), Ferdinand Steiner (clarinet), Demarre McGill (flute), Weston Sprott (trombone) and newcomer, Geoffrey Pilkington (French horn) amongst others.

The Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival aims to provide talented young South African musicians with the opportunity to study, perform and be inspired by chamber music and orchestral playing at an internationally recognized and professional standard.

Each year 250 + students enrol for active participation. The SICMF will take place between 5 and 14 July at the Endler Hall in the Stellenbosch University Konservatorium Building.
