Chef Michael Deg’s focus on quality rather than quantity. Michael likes to change 1 or 2 dishes on the menu monthly to ensure the menu keeps evolving with the seasons. His aim is for vegetarians and vegans to feel appreciated at Cavalli.

Head Chef Michael Deg believes in serving delicious, fresh, whole foods prepared in a way that honours the seasons – and he and his team forage daily in the heirloom vegetable garden.

Jordan Restaurant at Jordan Wine Estate

The Restaurant at Jordan, winter 2019 special: Join Jordan Restaurant for a two 5 course menu with wine pairing for the price of one. For only R995 per couple.

This special will be running from May until end of September 2019. Available from Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 18:30 or 19:00 only.

Jordan Restaurant at Jordan Wine Estate 

Terroir Restaurant at Kleine Zalze Wines 

Terroir opened in October 2004, and has since become one of the most sought-after gourmet destinations in the Cape Winelands, placing Stellenbosch prominently on the culinary map.

The restaurant is located on Kleine Zalze, a family owned wine farm that has risen to prominence both in South Africa and internationally thanks in particular to its award-winning Chenin Blanc and Shiraz.

Terroir Winter Special consist of a 2-course menu for R295 pp OR a 3-course menu for R395 pp and enjoy 2 complimentary glasses of Kleine Zalze’s wine with both offerings.

Operating hours for Dinner are Tuesday to Saturday from 18:30 until 21:00.

Operating hours for Lunch are Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 until 14:30.

The Vine Bistro at Glenelly Estate 

Wines are made to pair with food and The Vine Bistro, headed by Chef Christophe Dehosse, offers a French-inspired dining experience.

The interior decor is warm and elegant and includes a harmonious mix of 19th century chairs, classic Parisian tables, a contemporary cellar, a fireplace for the winter, leather banquettes and a traditional bar.

Outside on the terrace or under the pergola, long wooden tables, a water feature, plants and a petanque court invite long lazy afternoons enjoying the picturesque views of the estate.

Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery at Spier Wine Farm 

A passion for cooking with fire and smoke takes centre stage with a delicious range of pasture-reared meats (many of which are supplied by Spier’s Farmer Angus). The meat is smoked low and slow – at a low temperature for a long period of time – and this method allows lesser known cuts of meat like beef brisket, pork neck and lamb shoulder to be used. There are delicious organic vegetarian options too.

The restaurant overlooks the rolling lawns and ancient oaks of Spier’s meticulously restored Werf – perfect for the kids to run wild on. It is self-service: guests order from the bar, and the food is brought to the table soon after. Sharing is encouraged, with family-style platters that can be ordered for the table.
